Surprisingly enough, there is bacteria out there growing in our food, and most of us eat it everyday. But don’t worry–it’s good for you!
Prebiotics and probiotics are types of good bacteria that aid in digestion and protect from other harmful bacteria. Probiotics are found in yogurt, sauerkraut, and kimchi, and prebiotics are found in whole grains, bananas, onions, garlic, honey and artichokes. Probiotics and prebiotics are also added to foods and are available as dietary supplements.
